A public API usually processes prompts on the vendor’s servers, often outside Kenya. Azure OpenAI and ChatGPT Enterprise can be contracted with a DPA, they are still outside a Nairobi GPU you can walk up to.
Open weights are how we run models on hardware you control when residency is the point. Other legal paths exist beside them.

KDPA compliance is required.
Section 41 of the Act is privacy by design and default, technical and organisational measures, beyond a “store it in Kenya” slogan. Section 48 sets conditions for sending personal data out of Kenya. Section 50 lets the Cabinet Secretary require certain strategic processing through a Kenya server. Whether a given ChatGPT prompt is personal data is a DPO question.

No. We also build AI-powered business solutions, custom scripts for any source and destination, and cheaper deploys on any cloud when the data can travel. Private infrastructure is how those systems stay in Kenya when the law requires it.
What is sovereign AI?
Sovereign AI is deployed and operated inside a nation’s borders so data residency and foreign-cloud dependence are under your control. Corvux can deliver that with open-weight models on Kenya-hosted GPUs when the data class requires it, and cheaper any-cloud deploys when the data can travel.
How does Corvux align a job with the KDPA?
When the data class requires it, we deploy open-weight LLMs on GPU infrastructure in Nairobi so inference can stay in Kenya. That is how we align with Section 48 transfer questions and, where it applies, Section 50 Kenya-server rules, the fit fails a substitute for your counsel or DPO.
Which models do you deploy?
We deploy open-weight models including Gemma, Llama, Mistral and others. On a private job they run on Kenya-hosted GPUs. On a cloud job they run on the host you chose.
What is data residency?
Data residency means data is stored and processed within a geographic boundary. Section 50 lets the Cabinet Secretary require certain strategic processing through a Kenya server. Using a foreign LLM for sensitive personal data is a Section 48 transfer question for your DPO.
